Play a Business-style board game online
The property board game many Indian families grew up calling Business, played free in a browser with friends: Kiraya, with trading, auctions and 2–8 players.
Start a gameThe game you called Business
In much of India the roll-and-buy property game is simply called Business: a box with a paper board, play money and an argument about who forgot to collect rent. Kiraya is a free browser game in that family, and the name itself is the Hindi word for rent. It is an independent game with its own board and rules, not an online copy of any boxed edition.
What carries over
- Roll two dice, move round the board, and buy the cities you land on.
- Own a whole colour group to charge more rent and build houses, then a hotel.
- Mortgage when you are short of cash, and go bankrupt when you cannot pay.
- Trade with the other players — which is where most games are actually won.
What the browser adds
Nobody keeps the bank, nobody miscounts the money and nobody argues about whether you passed Start: the server applies every rule and writes it into a game log. One person opens a room and sends the link on WhatsApp or anywhere else; up to eight people join from their phones. The World Tour map even has an India group among its countries. A round limit means the game ends with a winner instead of being packed away unfinished.
What is different from the boxed game
Passing on a property sends it to auction for the rest of the table, by default. Trades can mix cash and deeds from both sides, with counteroffers. Bots can fill empty seats, so two cousins and two bots is a full game. Prices are in the game's own coins rather than rupees.
