Opolyx and Kiraya: two free browser property games
Opolyx and Kiraya are both free Monopoly-style browser games. One leans on progression and modes, the other on trading and having no accounts.
Play KirayaTwo independent games
Opolyx is a free browser property game. Its own pages describe private rooms with friends and bots, several game modes, levels and collectible cards, an iPhone app and an optional paid VIP pass. Kiraya is a separate game by different people and is not affiliated with Opolyx, Monopoly or Hasbro. For anything about Opolyx beyond that, its own site is the source.
The real difference: what carries over
Opolyx keeps a record of you between games, with progress that builds over time. Kiraya deliberately keeps nothing: no accounts, no levels, no unlocks and no saved games, because a room lives in server memory and ends when the last player leaves. If progression is part of the fun for your group, that is a reason to prefer Opolyx. If you want a game that starts in seconds and asks nothing of you tomorrow, that is the reason to try Kiraya.
What a Kiraya table is built around
- Trades that mix cash and deeds from both sides, with counteroffers going back and forth.
- Auctions whenever somebody passes on a property, on the standard table.
- Bots at four levels that answer trades too; the Expert bot will not sell you the last deed in your set.
- Up to eight players in one room, from one link, on any mix of devices.
- Two original maps, every price and card published in the board reference.
How to compare them
Open a room in each and look at three things: how quickly your group gets in, whether the board is readable on the smallest phone at the table, and whether the bots are worth playing when you are short of people.
